    OBITUARY: T. Ben Wilson, brother of Mrs. Burt T. Butler, 311 Cherry, died at his home in Los Angeles, California Monday, according to word received by Mrs. Butler. Mr. Wilson suffered a heart attack, Saturday night.
    Mr. Wilson, son of John Ben Wilson and Elizabeth Connor Wilson, was born in Chillicothe and received his education in the Chillicothe public school. He was married to Miss Joanna McDonald in 1906 in Chillicothe. He has resided in Los Angeles 35 years and prior to moving there resided in Chicago for 10 years.
    Mr. Wilson, who was a machinist, retired two years ago.
    Besides Mrs. Butler, he is survived by two nephews, Richard Butler, Kansas City and George Butler of Los Angeles, California. He was preceded in death by his wife December 27, 1953; his parents and one sister.
    Funeral and burial services will be held in Los Angeles.

Charles Augustus Wetzler (429) died on 8/6/1908 at Oketo, KS, at age 69.
In the 1873 plat map of Clarno, Green Co., WI it shows the Charles Wetzler family in Section 12. This is about 1 mile southeast of Monroe, and very near the cemetery. He had purchased land Dec. 19, 1867 and gave a mortgage to John Wetzler the same day. This was released Jan. 15, 1876. the final land transaction was Nov. 1, 1878 when he sold all his holdings in section 12
. They moved to Brown Co., KS in 1878, then to Balderson Twsp of Marshall Co. in 1881. Moved to Marysville, KS in 1900 after the death of his wife. His sister Mrs. Weismiller became his housekeeper -- obit in Advocate Democrat, 1908.

OBITUARY: Marysville, Marshall, Kansas Advocate and Democrat, August 13, 1908
Charles August Wetzler died at his home in this city, Thursday, August 6, 1908 at 6:00 AM. The funeral was held from his late residence Saturday morning. The services at the house being in charge of the Marysville Turner Society. The remains were escorted to Oketo by the Marysville I.O.O.F. Lodge and were laid to rest in the cemetery there, the services at the grave being the Odd Fellow Burial service.

About a year ago, Mr. Wetzler's health began to fail and a complication of diseases setting in caused his death. He was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, September 3, 1838, and at the time of his demise was 69 years 9 months and 3 days of age.

With his parents he left Pennsylvania in 1856 for Monroe, Green County, Wisconisn, and there he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Hindal on July 6, 1862. To this union were born 10 children, of whom 7 survived him to mourn their loss with 20 grandchildren, one brother and 2 sisters.

In 1878 the family moved to Brown County, Kansas and in 1881 to Balderson Township, this County where on July 21, 1898, his wife died. He then removed to this city in 1900 with his sister, Mrs. Weismiller, as housekeeper. During the residence of deceased in Marshall County, he was twice, elected to the office of County Commissioner, which office he filled to the best of his ability and to the full satisfaction of his constituents. He became a member of the Turner Society in 1882 and was always in good standing and was respected and loved by all. He was also a member of the Marysville I.O.O.F. Lodge.

In the death of Charles A. Wetzler, Marshall County loses one of her best and highly respected citizens; one who has done his duty in all that has been imposed on him, and his memory will remain long after what remains mortal of him shall have perished and returned to the earth from whence it came.

To the bereaved relatives is extended the sympathy of the community.

Enlisted in the Union Army Aug 9, 1862, assigned to Company G, 22nd Reg., Wisconsin Volunteers, made up of men from Racine, Rock, Green and Walworth Counties. Lived near Monroe and later moved to Beloit WI.
Joseph Samuel Wetzler (423) appeared on the census of 6/6/1860 at Monroe, Green Co., WI. Civil War: WI 22nd Reg., Co G, 8/9/1862-6/12/1865. The Twenty-second Wisconsin Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp Utley, Racine, Wisconsin, and mustered into the service of the United States on September 2, 1862. It left the state on the 16th and proceeded to Covington, KY where it was at once assigned to active duty as a part of the various expeditions into central Kentucky in pursuit of the Confederate forces, including expeditions to Lexington and Danville, and into middle Tennessee to Nashville and Franklin.
The Twenty-second first met the enemy in force at Thompson's Station, March 5, 1863, and on the 25th of the same month were compelled to surrender at Brentwood, TN. An exchange of prisoners having soon thereafter been perfected, the regiment was re-equipped at St. Louis in June and returned to the field of operations about Nashville and Murfreesboro, where the Twenty-second remained until February 1864. In April it was transferred to Chattanooga, and on the 7th of May took position in front of Buzzard Roost. With the Army of the Cumberland it served in the Campaign of Atlanta May 1 to September 8, 1864. As a part of such army the Twenty-second participated in various minor engagements, and in the battles of Resaca, GA, May 14-15, Dalton, GA, May 13, Kenesaw Mountain Operations June 10-July 3, Peach Tree Creek, GA, July 20 and Atlanta July 21, 1864.
On November 15 with Sherman's Army it began the "March to the Sea", which was concluded at Savannah December 21, 1864. With the Union forces the Twenty-second left Savannah January 2, 1865 and prticipated in the Campaign in the Carolinas, and in the battle at Averasborough, NC, March 16, 1865, and was present at Bentonville. After the surrender of the Confederates under Gen. J. E. Johnston, April 26, 1865, the Twenty-second marched to Washington and participated in the Grand Review; it camped for a few days in the suburbs of Washington, and was mustered out of the service June 12, 1865. It proceeded to Milwaukee, WI, where the regiment was soon afterwards disbanded.

The two witnesses claim thay have been acquainted with Theodore for 4 years, presumeably implying that he had lived in Sarcoxie for that long, on 10/12/1891.
